Massive Purchase of Mansions in Austin, Texas
Experiencing Conflicts with Some Children
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, is reported to have purchased several mansions in Austin, Texas, to live with his 11 children.
The US daily newspaper The New York Times (NYT) reported on the 30th (local time) that Musk has been acquiring homes over the past few months. Recently, Musk reportedly expressed to acquaintances his desire to "live close to all of his children."
The amount he spent on purchasing homes reached $35 million (approximately 48.3 billion KRW). He bought two mansions in Austin and is said to be residing in another home close to these mansions.
One of these mansions is occupied by Shivon Zilis, an executive at Neuralink, the medical device startup founded by Musk, who is also the mother of three of Musk’s children, living there with her children.
Additionally, Grimes (real name Claire Boucher), Musk’s former girlfriend and mother of three other children, is engaged in a legal dispute with Musk over child custody. Because of this, she is reportedly not living in Musk’s Austin mansion. Furthermore, Musk’s first wife, writer Justine Wilson, who gave birth to five of Musk’s children, lives elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Musk has also experienced conflicts with some of his children. Vivian Jenna Wilson (20) transitioned from male to female and is known to have had conflicts with her father.
Musk has previously expressed concerns about the global population decline. In a virtual speech at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the day before, he emphasized, "Most countries should prioritize solving the birth rate problem," and reiterated, "It requires action, not just words." The NYT speculated that he might increase his number of children through sperm donation.
In fact, in a biography of Musk published last September, it was revealed that Musk offered to donate his sperm to Shivon Zilis and encouraged her to have children. Zilis agreed, and eventually gave birth to fraternal twins through in vitro fertilization. Musk also had a third child with Zilis this year.
Moreover, the NYT reported that Musk approached Nicole Shanahan, the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, with whom he was rumored to have had an affair in the past, and offered to donate sperm.
