Sales Increasing for Single and Super Single Sizes
Hyundai Livart Launches Twin Lineup for Newlyweds
Features Customizable Configurations According to User Preferences
Among newlyweds, the ‘twin bed’ that does not disturb each other's sleep has become a trend. More newlywed couples are using the same bedroom while considering each other's sleep habits and preferences to sleep more comfortably and pleasantly.
According to Ace Bed on the 3rd, the proportion of single bed purchases for twin purposes among prospective couples in the membership service ‘Ace Wedding Members’ increased by 14.2% from January to September this year compared to the same period last year. Twin beds refer to placing single or super single-sized beds side by side. They are categorized into ‘hotel type’ with a wide extension panel on the headboard, ‘connected type’ where two beds are joined to look like one large bed, and ‘separate type’ where two beds are separated by a wide gap.
For ‘Luce3,’ the best-selling product for newlywed couples by Ace Bed, the sales proportion of the super single size is gradually expanding. The width of the Luce3 super single is 1182 mm, which provides relatively more space when two are placed together compared to large queen (LQ) at 1578 mm and king (K) at 1748 mm. Luce3 is a bed with an art wall concept emphasizing a comfortable mood by matching a temboard with subtle LED lighting. It features USB charging ports on the headboard, allowing high usability for various small electronic devices.
Hyundai Livart launched 12 types of twin bed lineup products in July reflecting the bedroom trends of newlyweds. They explained that the lineup was built due to increasing demand for twin beds that create individual spaces without disturbing each other's sleep, mainly among newlyweds. Single bed sales in July and August increased by about 20% compared to May and June, the two months before the lineup launch. Hyundai Livart’s twin beds offer 12 frame options such as ‘Aesthetic,’ ‘Copenhagen,’ and ‘Reve.’ Options like nightstands and lighting can also be added between the two beds or at one end of the bed.
Shinsegae Casa’s super single size bed sales from January to August this year also increased by 10% compared to the same period last year. In particular, ‘LEBLANC,’ which features the function of connecting two super single sizes to be used separately or together, saw its third-quarter sales increase by 53% compared to the previous quarter since its launch in April. LEBLANC is a hotel-style system bed that can be configured by combining panels of various shapes and sizes according to the user’s preferences and lifestyle. Additionally, the super single size sales of ‘BRUNO’ also increased by 10% from January to August this year compared to the same period last year. BRUNO is a bed with a Nordic sensibility made from materials that highlight the grain of walnut wood.
An industry insider said, “Using one bed together can disturb sleep due to each other’s movements, but twin beds are a good solution for creating individual sleep environments.”
