Gwangju City participated in the '2024 Gyeonggi-do Regional Informatization Best Practice Presentation Contest' with the theme 'Establishment of Administrative and Public Work RPA Automation' and won the grand prize. Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 30th that it won the Grand Prize at the '2024 Gyeonggi-do Regional Informatization Best Practices Presentation Contest' by participating with the theme of 'Establishment of RPA Automation for Administrative and Public Tasks.'
The contest, held on the 29th at Dasan Hall in the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office, was attended by over 110 informatization officers from cities and counties within the province. It is the largest regional informatization event in the province aimed at discovering excellent informatization cases, enhancing capabilities regarding informatization trends, and revitalizing regional informatization.
The 'RPA Automation for Administrative and Public Tasks' presented by Gwangju City is a system implemented to automatically handle tasks performed by humans through robot programs.
The Gwangju City RPA automation establishment project has been implemented annually from 2022 to 2024 and is currently applied to 22 administrative and public tasks across 14 departments in the city hall, with robot programs performing tasks automatically every day.
This has reduced task processing time by 6,800 hours, saved 180 million KRW in informatization construction budget, and increased the speed of processing time-consuming administrative tasks, allowing employees to focus on more valuable work.
Gwangju City, which won the Grand Prize at this Gyeonggi-do Regional Informatization Best Practices Presentation Contest, has recently continued to achieve exemplary results in informatization and innovative technology adoption by consecutively winning the 'Grand Prize at the 2024 Gyeonggi-do Drone Piloting Competition' and the '2024 Informatization Development Merit Award.'
A Gwangju City official stated, "This award is the result of Gwangju City's efforts toward informatization innovation. We will continue to actively introduce digital new technologies into administration and lead smart administration that citizens can experience."
