The Korea Park Golf Association previously required candidates for the Level 1 instructor exam to be members of the association who had obtained Level 2 instructor certification and had at least one year of experience. However, at the July 2023 interim board meeting, a new criterion was added: students who have earned at least 2 credits in park golf at a university and are recommended by their department head or university president.

Accordingly, students from the Department of Park Golf Management, who were granted the opportunity to take the Level 1 certification exam, took the practical and written tests on the 21st at Wicheon Park Golf Course in Dalseong-gun, Daegu, and Bian Park Golf Course in Uiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The referee certification exam, which is available to those who have held Level 1 instructor certification for over two years, was recently conducted in an integrated manner in Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do.

Four students from the Department of Park Golf Management took this referee exam and achieved a 100% pass rate.

Jo Jin-seok, head of the Department of Park Golf Management, expressed his delight, saying, “Our department was the first in the nation to open in 2023 and has grown to become the largest specialized park golf department nationwide with 240 students currently enrolled. Following consecutive wins at national competitions this year, producing the highest number of certified professionals nationwide proves that we are truly the top department in the country.”

Yeungjin College’s Department of Park Golf Management swept the 1st and 2nd Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister’s Cup Park Golf University Division, winning last year’s inaugural tournament and again in September this year in Hwacheon, Gangwon-do. Additionally, they showcased their national dominance by finishing as runners-up in the men’s division at the 1st Goryeong Daegaya Cup National Park Golf Tournament held this month.
