Court Dismisses Creditor's Subrogation Claim
Manager Kim, who managed singer and actor Park Yoochun (38), lost a damages claim lawsuit filed against Park.
On the 30th, the Civil Division 14 of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Presiding Judge Park Yeonju) ruled against plaintiff Kim in the damages claim lawsuit he filed against Park.

The court dismissed the creditor subrogation claim and rejected the plaintiff's remaining claims, ordering the plaintiff to bear the litigation costs. The specific reasons for the ruling were not explained in court.
Park did not appear in court that day. While criminal trials require the parties to attend, civil trials do not have such an obligation.
Kim had been Park’s dedicated manager since the JYJ days and established the one-person agency RCIEL with Park in 2020 after Park’s contract with his former agency was terminated due to a drug controversy.
However, conflict arose in 2021 when Park claimed that he did not receive proper settlement of profits from Kim. RCIEL denied this, stating that profits had been settled properly. They also filed a lawsuit alleging that Park had signed a dual contract with a Japanese agency.
Subsequently, Park’s mother, the major shareholder of RCIEL, held an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting to dismiss Kim from his position as CEO, resulting in Kim stepping down from the role.
Kim’s side initially claimed that Park had promised an annual salary of 100 million won when proposing the CEO position at RCIEL, but due to an unfair exclusive contract termination, Kim did not receive his salary and suffered damages amounting to 569.5 million won.
