This briefing session was organized to discuss the promotion directions and preparation matters by sector and to strengthen cooperation with related departments and organizations.
Presided over by Kim Chung-beom, Deputy Mayor and head of the event planning team, the briefing was attended by senior officials, representatives from the Gwangju City Sports Council, Gwangju City Disabled Sports Council, and Gwangju Urban Management Corporation. The session began with a comprehensive report on the progress from the head of the Sports Promotion Division, followed by a thorough review of the event preparations and progress.
At the meeting, Deputy Mayor Kim stated, “All departments will actively collaborate and prepare systematically,” adding, “We will create an event where all citizens of Gwangju and Gyeonggi Province can enjoy and unite together.”
Meanwhile, the '2026~2027 Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival,' which will be a festival of communication and harmony for 14 million residents of Gyeonggi Province, will hold a total of four events in Gwangju in the first half of 2026 and the second half of 2027.
