Gwangju Seo-gu to Host 'Oitgil Walking Contest' on the 2nd of Next Month

'5.2km Miracle'... Sharing a 'Message of Hope'

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) will hold the "3rd Together Seo-gu, Oh~itgil Walking Contest" around the Yeongsan River area on the 2nd of next month.


According to Seo-gu on the 30th, this walking contest carries the meaning of connecting the hope of our "neighbors (2)" through a sharing participation fee of "Oh (5) thousand won," and it was prepared to spread a culture of sharing in daily life through voluntary participation of residents and to share the hopeful message of the "5.2 km miracle."


The event will proceed on a 5.2 km course starting at 4 p.m. from the Yeongsan River Bicycle Path Information Center, going around the Seha-dong area, and returning to the starting point.

Applications are being accepted through a Naver form, and on-site registration (around the Yeongsan River Bicycle Path Information Center) is also possible on the day of the event.


Seo-gu has used the Oh-itgil sponsorship funds to support university tuition and academy fees for young family caregivers, as well as hospital expenses for sick family members. The sponsorship funds from this walking contest will also be used to support the self-realization, career, and life dreams of young family caregivers.


Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "I ask for many to participate in this meaningful event where you can take care of your health and practice neighborly love while walking together," and added, "Seo-gu, a kind city, will take the lead in realizing a warm community where not a single person is left out."
