Busan Nambu Office of Education Enhances Expertise in Deliberating School Violence Cases

Workshop to Strengthen Competencies of the Second Half School Violence Countermeasure Deliberation Committee Held on the 31st

On the 31st at 10 a.m., the Busan Nambu Office of Education will hold the ‘2024 Second Half School Violence Countermeasure Deliberation Committee Members Capacity Building Workshop’ at Yeongdo Piak Sky Bridge for 49 committee members.

This workshop aims to enhance the expertise of committee members in deliberating and deciding on school violence cases and to raise awareness of the seriousness of cyber violence, such as deepfake sexual crimes, which have recently emerged as a serious social issue.

The Nambu Education Support Office will operate the workshop divided into a morning special lecture program and an afternoon communication and digital experience program.

In the morning, Park Min-jung, Vice President of Shine & Company, will give a lecture on ‘Communication Methods to Prevent Conflict and Violence,’ and Seo Seung-wan, CEO of Aconnect, will lecture on ‘The Light and Shadow of the Digital Age (Creation and Deviation).’

In the afternoon, time will be allocated for subcommittee meetings among the committee members to discuss and communicate for educational and fair decision-making. There will also be a digital creation and convergence culture experience session to lead students toward a positive digital culture.

Cheon Eun-sook, Superintendent of the Nambu Office of Education, said, “This workshop will greatly help enhance the expertise, fairness, and integrity of committee members who must handle increasingly diverse school violence cases. In particular, we will focus on viewing cyber violence such as deepfake sexual crimes from an educational perspective and leading the cultivation of students’ desirable digital citizenship.”
