Various Experiences Including Nature Ecology Education, Templestay, Surfing, and One Instrument per Person
Students Learn in Nature, Parents Engage in Community Activities in the Village
Inje-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Choi Sang-gi) announced on the 30th that it will recruit 10 families for the 2025 first semester Mountain Village Ecological Exchange Students program until November 5th.
The schools assigned for the 2025 exchange students are three small schools located in mountain villages: Wolhak Elementary School and Yongdae Elementary School in Buk-myeon, Inje-gun, and Jindong Branch of Girin Elementary School in Girin-myeon.
Students of the 'Mountain Village Ecological Exchange Program' run by Inje-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, learning surfing, a specialized program. The exchange students who leave the city can freely play in nature with their families for one semester and learn about the local ecology, culture, and history. In addition, they can experience various specialized programs such as ecological environmental education, golf, native speaker online English lessons, one instrument per person performance, and survival swimming.
Since its start in 2022, the Inje-gun Mountain Village Ecological Exchange program has received great responses with diverse programs linked to local resources such as templestay and surfing.
Families participating in the 'Mountain Village Ecological Study Abroad' program implemented by Inje-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, are enjoying their time while experiencing specialized program activities. This year, the Inje-gun Mountain Village Exchange Students numbered 32 in the first semester and 31 in the second semester, attracting attention as all first-semester students extended their exchange to the second semester. Parents who moved with their children are actively participating as village SNS promoters, rural migration local writers, and small library librarians, showing high satisfaction.
