Hakhwa 2nd Elementary to Open in September 2027, Hakhwa Middle to Open in March 2028

The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that the establishment of (tentatively named) Hakha 2 Elementary School and Hakha Middle School has been approved as appropriate in the Ministry of Education's regular fourth central investment review.

Hakha 2 Elementary School will be newly established to accommodate the increasing number of students as more than 4,000 households are expected to move into apartment complexes starting in the second half of 2027, as part of the Doan 2-2 District urban development project.

Hakha Middle School is also planned to be established in response to the Doan 2-2 District urban development project and the upcoming large-scale apartment development, including the future Southwest Sports Town project, to ensure timely student placement and convenient commuting.

Hakha 2 Elementary School aims to open in September 2027, and Hakha Middle School in March 2028.

Seol Dongho, Superintendent of the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "As large-scale urban development is actively underway in the Doan District, it is necessary to properly allocate the increasing number of students and create a safe commuting environment," adding, "We will do our utmost to promote systematic school establishment in line with the Doan District development plan."
