The animation "Letter from Yeon," based on a Naver Webtoon, won three awards at the Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF2024).
According to Naver Webtoon on the 30th, "Letter from Yeon," co-produced by Studio N, a subsidiary of Naver Webtoon, and Studio Lico, received three awards at the 26th BIAF2024: the Feature Jury Award, the Cocomix Music Award, and the Korean Animation Industry Association President's Award (Technical Award).
Directed by Kim Yong-hwan, "Letter from Yeon" was also officially invited to the Special Screening section of the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF), the largest animation film festival in North America.
The webtoon "Letter from Yeon," which debuted on Naver Webtoon in 2018, tells the story of a protagonist who, after helping a friend being bullied, becomes the target of group bullying, transfers to a rural school, and discovers a mysterious letter. It is currently available in seven languages, including English, Japanese, and Thai, through Naver Webtoon's global platform.
Meanwhile, Studio N is leading Naver Webtoon's animation business this year by releasing animations based on Naver Webtoons such as "True Beauty" and "Yumi's Cells The Movie." They are also producing a series animation of the Naver Webtoon "Gosu" in collaboration with Japan's Toei Animation.
