Strengthening Night Safety in Daedeok Hangang Park... Security Lights Installed at 121 Locations, CCTV at 17 Locations
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 30th that it has completed the installation of security lights and CCTV within Daedeok Hangang Park to ensure citizens' nighttime safety, prevent crime, and monitor natural disasters in real time.
The city installed 121 security lights and 17 CCTVs along a section of approximately 3.7 km near Banghwa Bridge, from the riverside soccer field within Daedeok Hangang Park.
Notably, this installation project underwent thorough preparation, including public design review and consultation with the police station, emphasizing both safety and aesthetics.
The newly installed CCTVs can monitor key points within the park 24 hours a day in real time, enabling not only crime prevention but also rapid response in case of natural disasters or emergencies.
Additionally, the installation of security lights ensures sufficient illumination at night, allowing citizens to engage in activities in a safer environment. In particular, the security lights were built as environmentally friendly facilities considering energy efficiency.
A city official stated, “The newly installed security lights and CCTVs are important facilities for citizens' safety and will be especially helpful in crime prevention and disaster response. We will continue to strive to create an urban environment where citizens can live safely.”
The city plans to continuously implement various safety management measures to establish an environment where citizens can use the park with peace of mind.
