Applications open until the 29th of next month... Support for sports activity fees
Aimed at promoting sports participation for low-income and disabled individuals
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) is recruiting beneficiaries for the '2025 Sports Class Voucher' to support sports activities for low-income children, adolescents, and people with disabilities.
This project was established to provide vulnerable groups with opportunities to participate in sports, aiming to promote health improvement and enhance quality of life. The Sports Class Voucher is divided into two types: the general Sports Class Voucher and the Disabled Sports Class Voucher.
The Sports Class Voucher is available to children and adolescents aged 5 to 18 (born between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2020) who are recipients of basic livelihood benefits (living, medical, housing, education allowances), belong to the near-poverty class, or come from legally single-parent families. They can receive support of up to 105,000 KRW per month. The Disabled Sports Class Voucher targets people with disabilities aged 5 to 69 (born between January 1, 1956, and December 31, 2020), with support of up to 110,000 KRW per month.
Selected beneficiaries will receive monthly tuition support throughout 2025 via a dedicated Sports Class Voucher card. Only online payments are accepted; on-site payments are not allowed. Currently, there are 35 facilities available locally for people with disabilities, including Taekwondo and climbing, and 160 other general sports facilities such as Taekwondo, bowling, and boxing.
Applications can be submitted from the 8th to the 29th of next month. Applicants can apply by visiting the district office’s Sports and Tourism Department or their local community service center, or online through the Sports Class Voucher website or the Disabled Sports Class Voucher website. Existing users must reapply.
The district office will comprehensively review applicants’ eligibility, age, and past usage records to select the final beneficiaries in early December and notify them individually.
Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “We are pleased to support the Sports Class Voucher so that low-income children, adolescents, and people with disabilities can experience various sports,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to expand opportunities for residents to participate in physical activities.”
