LG Electronics announced on the 30th that it will officially begin sales of the 'LG Smart Cottage,' which integrates artificial intelligence (AI) home appliances and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technology.
On the same day, LG Electronics opened the official Smart Cottage website and will sell to general customers (B2C) planning second houses in suburban or rural areas, as well as corporate and organizational customers (B2B), offering an innovative residential living solution that combines space, home appliances, and services.
Inside the Smart Cottage, LG Electronics' space-customized premium home appliances such as the Objet Collection Wash Tower Compact, dishwasher, induction cooktop, microwave oven, and water purifier are installed. Various Internet of Things (IoT) devices, including smart door locks, CCTV, and electric blinds, are also installed, allowing integrated management of home appliances and IoT devices through the LG ThinQ app.

Additionally, by applying the upcoming LG Electronics AI home hub 'ThinQ On,' the home can be easily upgraded to an AI home. LG AI Home communicates with users in everyday language, understands customers and spaces, controls home appliances and IoT devices, connects to services, and provides optimal care for customers.
Along with this, the Smart Cottage can reduce energy consumption through LG Electronics' heat pump HVAC system and high-efficiency home appliances. Selecting the roof-mounted solar panel option allows the home to self-generate a significant portion of the energy it uses.
The LG Smart Cottage is divided into two types based on shape and size: 'Mono' and 'Duo.' The Mono is a single-story model where the entrance leads directly to the living room, with the living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom all in one space. The Duo, a two-story model, uses the first floor as living space including the living room, kitchen, and bathroom, and the second floor as a private bedroom.
Customers can virtually select various options such as site selection, product type, exterior and interior colors, and finishing materials on the LG Smart Cottage official website, and also check the estimated cost. The Smart Cottage (Mono) price starts from 180 million KRW (excluding VAT) and varies depending on the selected products, options, and installation site conditions. Upon applying for an on-site inspection, a Smart Cottage specialist manager visits the site to provide professional, customized consultation regarding delivery feasibility and contracts.
The LG Smart Cottage is built using a prefabricated (Pre-fab) method, where more than 70% of materials such as modular structures, windows, wiring, bathrooms, and kitchen fixtures are pre-manufactured and then delivered. Compared to conventional reinforced concrete construction methods, the construction period can be shortened by more than 50%. LG Electronics is collaborating with SpaceWAVY, a modular housing specialist company, and plans to continue multifaceted cooperation with various companies in the modular housing sector.
Lee Hyang-eun, Executive Vice President in charge of CX at LG Electronics H&A Business Division, said, "By officially launching the Smart Cottage, we will change customers' perception of second houses from just a temporary stay to a complete home." She added, "The Smart Cottage is a sustainable residential living solution that realizes LG Electronics' ESG vision of 'Better Life for All,' for people and the planet."
