Jeon Han-gil, a star instructor of Korean history for civil service exams, voiced opposition to the enactment of a comprehensive anti-discrimination law.

On the 24th, a video titled "MegaStudy's Top Instructor Jeon Han-gil's Summary of the Anti-Discrimination Law" was uploaded to a church YouTube channel in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. The video was produced by conservative Protestant groups such as the Korea Christian Federation to encourage participation ahead of the "2 Million Korean Church United Worship and Great Prayer Meeting" held on the 27th around Gwanghwamun and Yeouido Park in Seoul.

Jeon began by saying, "I made this broadcast hoping that the entire nation would understand how harmful the anti-discrimination law could be." He stated, "In Canada, women dressed in men's clothes and men dressed in women's clothes enter classrooms. In Finland, after this law was enacted, there were so many gender transitions that a law was introduced limiting it to no more than once a year." He added, "In Australia, the number of people identifying as transgender or lesbian has increased more than tenfold. In the UK, the number of people wishing to undergo gender transition has increased 44 times."

He continued, "In the case of homosexuality, as commonly known, there is a high risk of AIDS infection and it can be unhygienic, but such expressions would be punishable under the anti-discrimination law. Thinking about the students growing up, this is terrifying." He argued, "Teachers across the country must all rise up and strongly voice their opposition." He also said, "Whether bisexual or homosexual, everyone should be respected. That is an individual's freedom that no one can deny," but added, "If enacted into law, it will create reverse discrimination and cause tremendous problems by restricting freedom of expression, so I strongly oppose it. All citizens must be aware and participate."

Earlier, the organizing committee of the "2 Million Korean Church United Worship and Great Prayer Meeting" criticized a Supreme Court ruling from July that granted same-sex partners the same status as spouses for health insurance benefits, stating they would "fight against the enactment of evil laws like the anti-discrimination law." The Korea Christian Federation, the Korea Presbyterian Federation, and 20 civic groups urged opposition to the legalization of same-sex marriage and the enactment of the anti-discrimination law through a large-scale rally on the 27th.

Meanwhile, Jeon Han-gil is a star instructor for civil service exams and the Korean History Proficiency Test. He currently teaches Korean history at Mega Civil Service, a subsidiary of MegaStudy Education.
