Guro-gu held the graduation ceremony for the 12th class of the Ilsolilso (一笑一少) Senior Cultural University, where "one smile makes you younger," on October 29 at the district office auditorium.
This class of the Senior Cultural University, attended by 150 participants, simultaneously opened on September 24 at two locations: Guro District Office and Oryu Cultural Center. The program consisted of six sessions, each lasting two hours once a week.
The graduation ceremony was attended by about 130 students, including Acting Mayor Eom Eui-sik of Guro-gu, all wearing graduation caps and gowns. The event proceeded in the order of opening and national anthem, introduction of guests, certificate awarding, guest speeches, and commemorative photos.
As a pre-ceremony event, the Kim Min-hee Performance Group attracted attention with a gayageum byeongchang performance of "Changbutaryeong," "Spring in My Hometown," and "Arirang."
The certificates were awarded to the oldest senior representatives who attended all lectures without absence: Jeon Sun-ak (86, female) and Park Man-jong (82, male).
Acting Mayor Eom Eui-sik of Guro-gu said in his greeting, "I hope you have laughed a lot and become younger while participating in the Senior Cultural University lectures," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that seniors can enjoy the joy of learning even more in the future."
