Kakao announced on the 29th that it has shared the final results of the 2024 Strong Small Business Growth Support Project, which is operated in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service.
The results were shared through the '2024 Starcon Festa with Lycon' held the previous day. Starcon Festa is a public-private partnership project that discovers star small business owners with creative ideas, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit, supporting their leap to global stars. Since April this year, Kakao has been conducting the 'Kakao Shopping Adding Value' training program.
The event also included the Starcon Stars Awards, an awards ceremony for outstanding small business owners, and a performance sharing presentation for excellent partner companies participating in the online seller category of the Strong Small Business Growth Support Project. Kirin Company received the Ministry of SMEs and Startups Award, Peters received the Korea Entrepreneurs Association Award, and Hasa Jang received the Kakao Award. Special awards were given to Tizen and Sweepy.
Through Kakao Shopping Adding Value, 100 companies received training over seven months on the operation strategy of the KakaoTalk Store platform, Kakao Shopping Live, Kakao advertising, and other overall aspects. The participating businesses showed a 100% training completion rate and a high satisfaction score of 4.84 out of 5.
During the training period, Kakao provided one-on-one mentor coaching for partner companies to support practical growth, and transaction volume through various promotional events reached approximately 1.1 billion KRW. Additionally, compared to before the training, the number of KakaoTalk Channel friends increased by about 113,000, and store wishlists increased by approximately 10,000, demonstrating explosive results.
Jeon Seong-jun, Head of Kakao Commerce, said, "It is meaningful to support the growth of small business owners through public-private collaboration," adding, "Kakao will continue to foster innovative companies and strive for mutual growth through practical educational programs and support policies."
