Samcheok City Hosts 'Neowa Pocha Street' Event... Booths Inspired by Neowajib
Held on July 1-2... Offering 'Special Experiences' at Samcheok Beach
Samcheok City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Park Sang-su) announced on the 29th that the Samcheok Tourism and Culture Foundation (CEO Ok Jong-gi) will hold the "Neowa Pocha Street" event for two days from November 1st to 2nd at the Samcheok Beach area.
This event is organized with booths inspired by the traditional Korean house called Neowa-jip, designed to instantly capture the attention of tourists.
The term "Neowa" in "Neowa Pocha Street" carries the meaning of both "Neowa-jip" and "you and me." In the Samcheok area, three Neowa-jip houses are designated and protected as National Folk Cultural Heritage.
Running from 3 PM to 10 PM, the Neowa Pocha Street event will offer unique nighttime attractions and experiences, providing unforgettable enjoyment and excitement to citizens and tourists alike. Samcheok City expects this to invigorate the local economy.
Additionally, during the event period, customers who present receipts totaling over 20,000 won from purchases made in the Samcheok Beach area can exchange them for commemorative soju glasses. Various programs such as face painting, photo printing events, and busking performances are also prepared, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the beautiful autumn night sea and beach.
A Samcheok City official invited citizens and tourists to the pocha street set up on the autumn night at Samcheok Beach, stating, "Those who intend to consume alcoholic beverages at the event must bring an ID that can verify their age."
