Trump: "I am the complete opposite of Nazis... Harris is importing criminals"

[US Election 2024]

"I’m not a Nazi. I’m the opposite of a Nazi."

Donald Trump, former president and Republican presidential candidate, rebutted Vice President Kamala Harris’s attack labeling him a 'fascist' on the 28th (local time). He also claimed that Vice President Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, is importing criminals from around the world into the United States.

At a rally held in Atlanta, Georgia, Trump said, "Kamala is doing much worse things than she has done so far," adding, "The new claim from Kamala and the Kamala camp is that anyone who doesn’t vote for her is a Nazi." He said his father taught him never to use words like 'Nazi' or 'Hitler,' and mocked, "They (the Democrats) use those words." He then raised his voice, saying, "I’m not a Nazi. I’m the exact opposite of a Nazi."

Earlier, Vice President Harris cited remarks by John Kelly, who served as White House Chief of Staff during Trump’s first administration, to claim that Trump is a fascist. Tim Walz, Democratic vice presidential candidate and governor of Minnesota, also continued the fascist attack by comparing Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden in New York the previous day to a Nazi rally held at the same location in 1939. As fascist attacks targeting him intensified near the end of the presidential race, Trump actively rebutted them. During the rally, he even insisted that Vice President Harris is the fascist.

Trump said, "I’m running a campaign that offers solutions to save our country," while "Kamala is running a campaign of demonization and hatred." He also said that right after the 2016 election, he could have put his rival, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in jail but did not, and now "they (the Democrats) are trying to lock me up." Regarding Michelle Obama, wife of former President Barack Obama, who criticized him as an 'evil person' during a rally supporting Vice President Harris on the 26th, he expressed displeasure, saying "That was mean" and "I have always tried to act kindly and politely. She opened a box."

He also repeated claims that illegal immigrant criminals are flooding into the U.S. due to the border policies of Vice President Harris and President Joe Biden. Trump said, "Prisons around the world are being emptied because of our country," specifically mentioning the Middle East and Central America. He said, "Kamala is importing brutal criminals who assault, rape, and murder our women and girls," adding, "That is what is actually happening." He also claimed that if Vice President Harris wins the November election, a Great Depression like that of 1929 will occur. Additionally, he praised Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and a supporter of his, calling him a "true patriot" and saying, "He is currently campaigning in the battleground state of Pennsylvania."

On the same day, Trump also attended a summit event hosted by the National Faith Advisory Board (NFAB) in Powder Springs, Georgia, appealing for support from Christian voters. He said, "Religion in America is under serious threat," and added, "Christians are known for not voting well, but we need to get every Christian out to vote." He referred to the shooting incident during a Pennsylvania rally in July as a "miracle," emphasizing, "Because He (God) wanted to help America and the world." At this event, he also mentioned that if elected, he would have a faith office connected to the presidential office. Georgia, where the event was held, is considered a core part of the so-called 'Bible Belt' among battleground states. In the 2020 presidential election, Democratic candidate Joe Biden defeated Trump by about 11,000 votes there.
