The 2024 Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo, held in Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam, known as the "No. 1 Dinosaur Site in Korea," is continuing its final surge of popularity by recording the highest number of visitors as it approaches closing.
On the 26th, over 18,000 paid visitors came to the event site, marking the highest attendance during this expo period. This is analyzed to be due to the overlap of the weekend and the autumn holiday season, attracting a large number of family visitors.
Additionally, the themed performances held twice daily on the permanent stage delivered deep stories and emotions to the audience, gaining great popularity. Furthermore, the circus performances held twice on weekdays and six times on weekends captivated visitors with thrilling acrobatics. The circus shows combined dazzling lighting with extraordinary feats, providing visitors with unforgettable enjoyment.
In particular, various experience programs such as interactive conversations with dinosaurs using generative AI, 4D and 5D videos, a safari video hall, and a special reptile exhibition hall received high satisfaction from family visitors under their 40s. Nighttime openings were held until 10 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and public holiday, offering visitors a special experience. Moreover, the event contributed to revitalizing the local economy through local resident employment and the distribution of local gift certificates.
On the final weekend, a fireworks show will mark the finale of the 2024 Dinosaur Expo. The fireworks show will take place at 8:10 p.m. on Saturday and 7:40 p.m. on Sunday.
Im Wang-geon, CEO of the Goseong Cultural Tourism Foundation, said, “We are deeply grateful that the 2024 Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo is being successfully held with much love. We sincerely thank the parents who brought their children with effort and love,” adding, “A fireworks show is also prepared for the last weekend, so we hope many people will participate together.”
Meanwhile, the 2024 Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo is being held for 33 days from October 2 to November 3 at Danghangpo Tourist Site and is scheduled to close on November 3.
