The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 28th that Lumpy Skin Disease has occurred at a dairy farm located in Chungju, Chungbuk.
With this, the confirmed cases of Lumpy Skin Disease nationwide have increased to 15 this year. Lumpy Skin Disease also occurred in Chungju last month.
To prevent the spread of Lumpy Skin Disease, the ministry dispatched an initial response team and an epidemiological investigation team to this farm to control access and conduct an epidemiological investigation. Among the 216 cattle raised at this farm, the infected cattle will be culled according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
The ministry also issued a temporary movement suspension order until 7 p.m. on the 29th for livestock-related facility workers and vehicles in Chungju and six adjacent cities and counties (Jecheon, Goesan, Eumseong in Chungbuk; Yeoju in Gyeonggi; Wonju in Gangwon; and Mungyeong in Gyeongbuk).
