Intel announced on the 28th that it has launched its second artificial intelligence (AI) PC processor new product in Korea following last year. It uses about half the power of its predecessor while improving AI computing performance by approximately four times.
At a press briefing held on the 28th at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, Intel Korea introduced the Intel Core Ultra series, which significantly enhances AI performance, and showcased new AI laptops from seven manufacturers including Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics equipped with the new processors. Among domestic companies, Samsung Electronics launched a laptop (Galaxy Book5 Pro 360) equipped with Intel’s new processor in the Korean market ahead of LG Electronics on the same day.
The new products include the laptop 'Intel Core Ultra 200V' series (codename Luna Lake) and the desktop 'Intel Core Ultra 200S' series (codename Arrow Lake). These products are manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm (nanometer, one billionth of a meter) process technology.
With the Core Ultra 200S series, Intel has expanded its AI PC portfolio from laptops to desktops.
"Uses 50% Less Power, Performance Cores 14% Faster, Efficiency Cores 68% Faster"
Semiconductor company Intel Korea held a briefing session on October 28 at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, to announce the domestic launch of the latest Intel Core Ultra 200S (desktop processor) and Intel Core Ultra 200V (laptop processor) series. Jack Huang, Intel’s Sales Director, explained at the new product announcement, "The laptop Core Ultra 200V series and desktop 200S series are based on a hybrid architecture that optimizes power load across various workloads through a combination of high-performance cores and efficiency cores."
According to Intel, the AI laptop processor 'Intel Core Ultra 200V' series improves neural processing unit (NPU) performance by more than four times compared to the previous generation, significantly enhancing AI computing and processing speed. It uses up to 50% less power than the previous product while delivering 14% faster performance cores (P-cores) and 68% faster efficiency cores (E-cores). Both P-cores and E-cores are composed of four cores each.
Adopting the power-efficient x86 architecture, it extends battery life and greatly improves graphics performance. It can be used for up to 20 hours on a single charge. This battery life surpasses Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite (18.4 hours) and Intel Core Ultra 155H (14.2 hours).
At the event, laptops equipped with the 200V series were introduced, including Samsung Electronics Galaxy Book5 Pro 360, LG Electronics Gram Pro, HP Omnibook Ultra Flip, Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, ASUS ZenBook S14, Acer Swift 14 AI, and Dell XPS 13.

AI desktop processor 'Intel Core Ultra 200S' series can reduce power consumption by up to 58% compared to the previous generation processors. Director Huang stated, "It also delivers up to 50% faster AI performance compared to competitors’ flagship processors."
The new product is designed to enable users to utilize games and productivity applications more intuitively through AI-based features such as facial recognition and gesture recognition.
Director Huang said, "Our goal is to sell 40 million AI PCs this year and reach a cumulative 100 million units next year," adding, "75-85% of next year’s AI PC sales volume will be laptops." Regarding criticism that gaming performance in some benchmarks of the Intel Core Ultra 200S series for PCs is lower than the previous generation, he responded, "We focused on excellent power efficiency."

The collaboration between Intel and Microsoft’s 'Copilot' will also officially begin with this new product. Park Beom-joo, Vice President of Microsoft Korea, who attended the briefing, said that laptops equipped with Intel AI processors can use AI functions without an internet connection, enabling more powerful AI services in an on-device (embedded) form.
Vice President Park said, "The Core Ultra 200V processor is up to 2.5 times faster in AI performance than Apple’s MacBook Air," and added, "We expect domestic users to achieve higher work performance through Intel-based Copilot+ PCs with strong ecosystem scalability." He emphasized that AI functions can be used quickly without relying on the cloud, maintaining data security and privacy even in environments with limited network connectivity.
Microsoft plans to provide the AI feature 'Copilot+' as a free update next month on Windows 11, enabling it to run on x86 processors such as Intel and AMD. Copilot+ is an AI-based productivity tool developed by Microsoft that helps users efficiently perform various tasks such as document creation, data analysis, and schedule management. For example, Copilot+ analyzes sentence context when writing documents to suggest appropriate words and phrases, and automatically generates necessary formulas or organizes data easily when analyzing data or creating charts.
From real-time sign language translation to content creation... New possibilities for AI PCs
At the briefing, Intel demonstrated various use cases of AI PCs, presenting new user experiences. Through the AI program 'OmniBridge,' Intel showcased real-time communication between American Sign Language and English users, demonstrating the everyday application of AI technology.
The performance of AI PCs enhances power efficiency relative to performance in gaming, office productivity, and content creation, maintaining high frame rates in games such as Assassin's Creed while optimizing AI functions.
President Baek said, "We will expand the AI ecosystem by collaborating with major partners in Korea such as Naver and KAIST, supporting AI technology to deeply embed itself in domestic industries and daily life." Quoting Intel founder Gordon Moore, he emphasized the infinite potential of AI PCs by saying, "What has already been achieved can go further with AI PCs."
