Visits to Sepung and Yulchon Industrial Complexes... Listening to Difficulties
Gu Chung-gon, the head of the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority, conducted his first on-site inspection of major development projects within the zone since his inauguration and encouraged the related personnel.
After receiving key departmental reports following his inauguration on the 11th, Gu visited eight project sites including Yulchon Industrial Complex, Sepung Industrial Complex, and Seonwol Residential District over three days on the 23rd, 24th, and 28th to review the overall progress.

Gu listened to updates on the development status and challenges faced in each district, and especially urged heightened attention to preventing safety accidents ahead of the winter season.
The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone was designated in October 2003 with the goal of developing into a Northeast Asia international logistics and business hub. As of the end of last year, it is developing a total area of 57.08㎢ across 17 districts in 6 complexes.
Major industrial complexes such as Yulchon and Sepung have stable logistics infrastructure and excellent location conditions, attracting active investment across various industries including secondary batteries, ports, and manufacturing.
Gu emphasized, “We will do our utmost to secure national funding to ensure that all development projects in the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone proceed without setbacks. We will supply factory sites in a timely manner through new industrial complex development, and focus on nurturing strategic industries that will drive the future growth of the Gwangyang Bay Area and attracting anchor companies.”
