The 27th Pocheon Sanjeong Lake Myeongseongsan Silver Grass Festival, hosted by Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) and organized by the Pocheon Culture and Tourism Foundation, successfully concluded on the 27th after a 17-day celebration.
This year’s festival was held under the theme “A Healing Journey with Memories in Nature,” with the Sanjeong-ri Village Association, Pocheon Culture and Tourism Foundation, and Pocheon City collaborating to operate over 20 diverse programs.
In particular, visitor-participatory programs such as the Silent Disco, Eco-friendly Korean Chrysanthemum (Gujeolcho) Experience, and the Eokmyeong Challenge held in the silver grass fields received great responses. Additionally, a military equipment exhibition program prepared with the cooperation of the 5th Corps 1st Armored Brigade was highly popular.
Furthermore, tourist infrastructure such as parking lots and restrooms was newly renovated, and the silver grass fields were reorganized to provide better convenience for visitors.
Yang Dae-jong, the festival executive committee chairman, said, “We hope that visitors to Sanjeong Lake have left with good memories again this year,” and added, “We will continue to strive to present new and enjoyable festivals every year.”
Meanwhile, the Sanjeong-ri Village Association is preparing a nighttime landscape project based on resident participation budgeting to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the construction of Sanjeong Lake next year. Also, Pocheon City and the Pocheon Culture and Tourism Foundation plan to create an even richer and more special festival through the Gyeonggi Tourism Festival contest project.
