One Grand Prize Winner Receives 200,000 KRW, Two Excellence Awardees 150,000 KRW Each, Seven Encouragement Awardees 50,000 KRW Each
Plan to Select Innovative Names Through Selection Committee and Preference Survey
Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 28th that it will hold a naming contest for the pet playground and pet culture center until November 8.
During the contest period, the city will conduct an internal review of the submitted names and initially select 10 candidates. After a selection committee review and a second evaluation, a preference survey will be conducted on the Guri City website to ultimately choose the winning entries.
For each facility, the pet playground and the pet culture center, one grand prize winner will receive 200,000 KRW, two excellence award winners will receive 150,000 KRW each, and seven encouragement award winners will receive 50,000 KRW each. The grand prize winners will be awarded certificates and prize money at the city’s monthly assembly in December.
Meanwhile, to provide a cultural space where dogs and their owners can interact, the city plans to newly open pet playgrounds in Galmae and Inchang in September 2024. Currently, four locations are operated: ▲ Jangja Lake Park (2,000㎡), ▲ Galmae Cooperative Park (720㎡), ▲ Inchang Central Park (700㎡), and ▲ under Wangsuk Bridge (300㎡).
Additionally, a pet culture center has been established on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Distribution Complex Market, where programs for abandoned animal protection, education, adoption, and pet culture education are being operated.
