(Hope Sharing People)-(Korea Child Welfare Association) Sign MOU for '2024 Didim Seed Scholarship Sponsorship Project'... Pledge to Donate 96 Million KRW Over 2 Years... Support 80 Students with 50,000 KRW Monthly
The nonprofit organization Hope Sharing People (President Kim Jeong-an) and the Korea Child Welfare Association (President Kim Yosep) have signed a business agreement for the ‘2024 Didim Seed Scholarship Sponsorship Project’ to support children under protection (child welfare facilities, foster care, facilities for the disabled) or children from basic livelihood security households.
On the 25th at 4 p.m., the business agreement ceremony was held at the Korea Child Welfare Association office, attended by Kim Yosep, President of the Korea Child Welfare Association, and Kim Jeong-an, President of Hope Sharing People, among others.
The agreement states that Hope Sharing People will donate a total of 96 million KRW by contributing 50,000 KRW monthly for 24 months, and the Korea Child Welfare Association will recommend 80 recipients for the Didim Seed Scholarship.
The Didim Seed Account is a system where children under protection and children from basic livelihood security households deposit 50,000 KRW monthly, and the government (local governments) adds 100,000 KRW monthly to accumulate savings.
This system was established to help children prepare a lump sum of money necessary for independence, such as tuition fees, employment/start-up costs, and housing expenses.
Hope Sharing People was established in 2007 and is a social welfare corporation that provides learning opportunities by conducting various support activities such as scholarship projects and computer support for children and youth from difficult family environments.
Kim Jeong-an, President of Hope Sharing People, said, “We donated with the hope that the Didim Seed Account scholarship would bring a small hope to children and youth,” and added, “I hope it will be of some help to children preparing for their future.”
Kim Yosep, President of the Korea Child Welfare Association, said, “We thank Hope Sharing People for sharing hope with children and youth facing difficulties due to economic reasons,” and added, “The Korea Child Welfare Association will also do its best to help prepare a bright future for children.”
