Pocheon-si Successfully Concludes the 2nd Gunnae-myeon Banwolsanseong Wind Festival

The Gunnae-myeon Administrative Welfare Center in Pocheon City held the 2nd Gunnae-myeon Banwolsanseong Wind (WISH) Festival on the 26th.

The Administrative Welfare Center of Gunnae-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 28th that the 2nd Gunnae-myeon Banwolsanseong Wind (WISH) Festival was successfully held on the 26th.

Held under the theme "Walking the Path of Wishes," this festival was conducted in conjunction with the 2nd Pocheon Banwol Gugak Festival, showcasing unique performances combining traditional Korean music (Gugak) against the backdrop of the beautiful nature and deep history of Banwolsanseong.

The festival began with a Samulnori performance by the Silver Nongak Group of the Pocheon Senior Welfare Center. During the commemorative ceremony, awards were presented for the writing and drawing contests, followed by a paper airplane flying event of wishes involving guests and awardees.

Additionally, diverse performances by invited artists such as Gugak musicians Seo Jeong-geum and Choi Yong-seok, Pocheon city ambassador Kim Seong-jun, trot singer Geum Jandi, and Hidden Singer alumnus Na Geon-pil further heated up the festival atmosphere.

Moreover, side events including an old photo exhibition by the Gunnae-myeon Residents' Autonomous Association, exhibitions of writing and drawing contest works, various experience and promotional booths, and food stalls were provided, offering citizens a rich array of sights and activities.

Yoo Hae-won, the festival organizing committee chairman, said, "This festival was a meaningful occasion where Gunnae-myeon residents and Pocheon citizens gathered in harmony and communication. We hope everyone enjoyed the abundant cultural events set against the autumn scenery of Cheongseongsan, the southern mountain of Pocheon. We ask for continued interest in local culture and community."
