Automobile Specialized Maintenance Association Gwangju Branch Conducts Free Vehicle Safety Inspection The Gyeonggi-do Automobile Specialized Maintenance Business Association Gwangju Branch conducted a free vehicle safety inspection on December 27 at a temporary parking lot inside the Gwangju Citizens' Gymnasium to ensure the safety of vehicles for the disabled and socially disadvantaged in Gwangju during the 2024 winter season.

The Gyeonggi-do Automobile Specialized Maintenance Business Association Gwangju Branch announced on the 28th that on the 27th, it conducted a free winter safety inspection for vehicles of disabled persons and socially considerate vehicles at a temporary parking lot inside the Gwangju Citizens Gymnasium to ensure their safety for the 2024 winter season.

This free safety inspection was carried out with the voluntary participation of about 100 members, including Park Jun-gyu, head of the Gwangju Branch. The inspection targeted disabled and socially considerate vehicles (under 2000cc) and social service organization vehicles (cargo trucks under 1 ton and vans with up to 15 seats), checking tire conditions, engines, lighting devices, and more. Additionally, various oil refills, wiper replacements, interior sterilization, and air conditioner antibacterial filter replacements were performed.

This event has been promoted since 2009 targeting Gwangju citizens' vehicles, and since 2019, it has become a Gwangju traffic safety policy project aimed at preventing traffic accidents in advance through vehicle safety inspections and maintenance, as well as establishing a culture of automobile maintenance.

This year, the inspection target was changed to vehicles of disabled persons and social service organizations.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, "The inspection of vehicles for disabled persons, vulnerable groups, and social service organizations in Gwangju will contribute to accident prevention in preparation for the winter season."
