Gwangju, Gokseong, and Pyeongtaek Factories Obtain ISO 50001 Certification
Kumho Tire has obtained international energy management certifications for its three domestic factories.
On the 28th, Kumho Tire announced that it acquired ISO 50001 certification for its three domestic factories located in Gwangju, Gokseong, and Pyeongtaek.
ISO 50001 is an energy management system standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It evaluates whether an organization continuously improves energy efficiency, optimizes energy consumption, and systematically establishes and manages an energy management system. After obtaining the certification, companies undergo annual audits for maintenance.
By acquiring ISO 50001 certification, companies can continuously improve their energy performance through systematic energy management. This enables the development of energy management indicators and the identification of energy-saving and efficiency improvement measures.
Based on its 2045 carbon neutrality roadmap, Kumho Tire has been managing greenhouse gas emissions, investing in equipment and improving management systems for energy reduction, and transitioning to renewable energy. To obtain the ISO 50001 certification, the company organized an Energy Management System Certification Task Force (TF) team to prepare.
Kim Myung-sun, Vice President of Production Technology at Kumho Tire, stated, "We established an environmental management policy last year with the commitment to minimize environmental impact, and we are promoting carbon neutrality and environmental management activities company-wide through various channels.
