Hyundai Motor Group announced that from the 24th, it operated a 'WheelShare Mobile Rental Station' around Anmok Beach, where the Gangneung Coffee Festival was held for four days. WheelShare is a social contribution project by the company in collaboration with the Community Chest of Korea and the Green Light Association.
It provides free rental of electrification kits (devices that convert manual wheelchairs to electric use) and electric wheelchairs (manual wheelchairs equipped with electrification kits) to people with disabilities, the elderly, and mobility-impaired individuals.
Earlier, the company signed an agreement last month with the Korea Tourism Organization to operate mobile rental stations at major festival sites. They plan to operate rental stations at various regional festivals. Additionally, the company established a new WheelShare base at the Gangneung Barrier-Free Tourism Information Center inside the KTX Gangneung Station. This is the fifth base following existing ones in Seoul, Busan, Jeju, and Gyeongju.
