Efficiency Enhancement through Demand-Based Dispatch Rate Adjustment - Expected Reduction in Waiting Time
Min Kyung-sun, President of Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, is delivering a greeting at the 'Gyeonggi-do Transportation Vulnerable Mobility Support Center Workshop' held at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel on the 24th. Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation (President Min Kyung-sun) announced on the 28th that it successfully held the Gyeonggi-do Transportation Disadvantaged Mobility Support Center Council over two days from the 24th to the 25th at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel.
Hosted by Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, the council was attended by over 80 officials from mobility support centers for the transportation disadvantaged across Gyeonggi-do. They engaged in discussions on improving mobility convenience for the transportation disadvantaged and explored future development plans, making it a meaningful time contributing to the enhancement of mobility convenience for the transportation disadvantaged.
The main agenda included △ Introduction to the Gyeonggi-do Metropolitan Mobility Support Center and full dispatch guidance △ Introduction and usage instructions of AI counselors △ Operation of Gyeonggi-do type voucher taxis △ The 4th Mobility Support Center Network Council △ Status of special transportation means operation and work sharing, among others.
President Min Kyung-sun said, “I appreciate the efforts of everyone working to improve mobility convenience for the transportation disadvantaged in each region of the province,” and added, “I hope this council will lay the foundation for diverse information exchange and institutional improvements to enhance mobility convenience for the transportation disadvantaged.”
The full dispatch system, which integrates the previously dualized tasks where city and county mobility support centers handled local reception and dispatch, and the metropolitan mobility support center handled metropolitan reception and dispatch, was first implemented in July in Namyangju and Guri. This month, it will expand to Pocheon, Yangpyeong, and Yeoncheon; in September to Pyeongtaek, Siheung, and Gimpo; in October to Uijeongbu, Hanam, and Yeoju; and in November to Seongnam, Anyang, and Paju, with plans to implement it in all regions of the province by December.
Once full dispatch expands to all regions within the province by the end of this year, it is expected that the overall dispatch waiting time will significantly decrease due to dispatch based on users’ real-life circumstances, improving user convenience and greatly enhancing satisfaction with special transportation means.
Additionally, since July 31, the corporation has been operating AI counselors to improve phone response rates during peak demand hours. It also stated that through institutional improvements such as providing a voucher taxi platform beyond special transportation means, efficient mobility for the transportation disadvantaged through demand dispersion is expected to be possible in the future.
