The 10·29 Itaewon Disaster Bereaved Families Association and Citizens' Countermeasures Committee issued a press release on the 25th, requesting media outlets and portals to close the comment sections on disaster-related reports for six days from the 26th to the 31st.

They stated, "To ensure that the focused memorial period can be a genuine time of remembrance, we request the media to conduct careful reporting and temporarily suspend the comment sections on news articles, where concerns about secondary harm due to hateful and insulting content have increased."
With the second anniversary of the disaster approaching on the 29th, they have designated the period from the 21st to the 29th as a focused memorial week, continuing with press conferences, policy forums, concerts, academic conferences, and citizen memorial events.
