"We Will Never Forget the Support and Love You Have Given Us"
Jung Myung-ho, CEO of Napalggot F&B and son of the late actress Kim Soo-mi, released a statement on the 25th regarding his mother's passing, asking people to remember her passion for acting.
On the afternoon of the same day, Jung said, "My mother, actress Kim Soo-mi, who has received great love from the public for many years, passed away this morning at 7:30 a.m. due to hyperglycemic shock," adding, "I deeply bow my head in gratitude to everyone who loved actress Kim Soo-mi, who lived her life laughing and crying as everyone's mother, from 'Jeonwon Ilgi's 'Ilyong Eomni' to the play 'Chinjeong Eomma'."
He continued, "I hope you remember Kim Soo-mi, who always stayed close to viewers with her love and passion for acting, and my family and I will live with a heart that does not forget the support and love you have given us over the years and will repay it."
It was reported that Kim Soo-mi was found unconscious by her son at her home in Bangbae-dong, Seocho-gu, that morning. Her son immediately called 119, and Kim Soo-mi was transported to the emergency room of Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. Later, the emergency room staff confirmed her death and reported it to the police. She was 75 years old.
That afternoon, a funeral altar for Kim Soo-mi was set up at Hanyang University Hospital's funeral hall in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Her son, Jung Myung-ho, was registered as the chief mourner. Jung Myung-ho is also the husband of actress Seo Hyo-rim. The funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on the 27th.
