Pregnant Women Aged 35 and Over Registered in Gwangjin-gu Receiving Medical Care This Year
Support for Obstetrics Outpatient and Examination Fees Regardless of Income
Efforts to Reduce Economic Burden of Pregnancy and Childbirth by Expanding Support for Pregnant Women
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) provides medical expense support to pregnant women aged 35 and over to promote healthy childbirth and happy parenting.
According to the district, as of 2023, the average age of childbirth is 34.73 years, and the proportion of elderly mothers aged 35 and over is 48.3%, which continues to increase every year.
Accordingly, the district supports medical expenses for pregnant women aged 35 and over. Mothers aged 35 and above face higher risks of miscarriage and premature birth, resulting in more than twice the number of prenatal tests and examinations. The district is working to alleviate the economic burden of medical expenses for elderly childbirth families.
The support target is pregnant women aged 35 and over as of the expected delivery date, who are registered residents of Gwangjin-gu. Up to 500,000 KRW will be provided, and those who have received medical treatment or tests during their pregnancy this year are eligible for support.
To apply, applicants must submit required documents such as a pregnancy confirmation certificate and medical expense receipts through Mongttang Information All-in-One Key, a comprehensive platform for pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting, via online application. For more details, please contact the Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Reducing the burden of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting is the shortcut to overcoming the low birthrate era. I hope this project will be of some help to pregnant women aged 35 and over. We will continue to discover support projects for pregnant women that parents can truly feel and do our best to create an environment where it is good to have and raise children.”
