Gwangju City has been holding the "20th Childcare Week Event" from the 24th to the 25th, with about 4,000 participants including infants, toddlers, and childcare staff in the area. Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 25th that it held the “20th Childcare Week Event” from the 24th to the 25th, with about 4,000 participants including infants, toddlers, and childcare staff in the area.
Hosted by Gwangju City and organized by the Gwangju City Daycare Center Association, the event consisted of a childcare expo, a Childcare Week commemorative ceremony, and teacher training sessions.
At the Childcare Week commemorative ceremony, exemplary childcare staff who dedicated themselves to the development of childcare were awarded, and the efforts of childcare workers throughout the year were encouraged through pledges by childcare professionals. Additionally, in the teacher training session, about 500 teachers attended a premium speech lecture by anchor O Do-hoon, learning how to communicate and empathize with parents’ hearts, providing a healing time for childcare staff.
Furthermore, the childcare expo held on the 25th at Opo Sports Park featured participation from 11 related organizations including the Childcare Comprehensive Support Center, Dream Start, and the Child Protection Agency. Through various programs such as experience and education booths, playgrounds, VR experiences, and air bounces, about 3,000 infants and toddlers enjoyed and engaged in fun activities.
Shin Yuri, president of the Gwangju City Daycare Center Association, expressed gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the support of the participating related organizations, the event was successfully completed. We will continue to plan and provide programs that make infants, toddlers, parents, and childcare staff happy, striving to improve the quality of childcare services.”
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “I express my gratitude to the childcare staff who always do their best for the care of children despite difficult circumstances. We will do our best to create a happy workplace where staff can be happy and build a happy city Gwangju where hopeful changes begin.”
