Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 25th that it will accept applications for the "2024 4th Quarter Youth Basic Income" from October 31 to November 29.
The payment target is 24-year-old youth born between October 2, 1999, and October 1, 2000. Applicants must have continuously resided in Gyeonggi Province for more than 3 years as of the application date or have a total residence period of more than 10 years, and must be registered residents of Pocheon City as of the application date. Eligible individuals will receive 250,000 KRW per quarter, up to a maximum of 1,000,000 KRW, paid in local currency (card-type Pocheon Sarang Gift Certificate).
Youth who meet the eligibility criteria can apply through the Gyeonggi Job Platform Jobaba website, and must submit a resident registration transcript including the entire address history as of the application date or link their MyData service.
Additionally, if the applicant is a basic livelihood security recipient, by attaching a certificate of recipient status, the youth basic income can be paid as a lump sum rather than quarterly, so that it is not counted as public transfer income.
A Pocheon City official stated, "After reviewing the eligibility requirements, the youth basic income will be paid sequentially starting from December 20," and added, "Youth who missed applying in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd quarters can apply retroactively during the 4th quarter application period."
Meanwhile, detailed information regarding the 2024 4th Quarter Youth Basic Income can be found on the Gyeonggi Job Platform Jobaba website. Inquiries can be made to the Gyeonggi Call Center or the Youth Policy Team of the Pocheon City Job and Economy Division.
