Assemblyman Mok Kyung-jong "Blocking Clear Law Enforcement"
Police Chief Jo Ji-ho stated on the 25th that the police's prevention of delivering the accompaniment order to First Lady Kim Geon-hee, who was absent from the Legislation and Judiciary Committee's national audit, was "a form of security."
On the same day, during the National Assembly Public Administration and Security Committee's national audit, Chief Jo responded to the criticism from Mo Kyung-jong, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who said, "The police should only provide surrounding security, but they obstructed clear law enforcement."
Rep. Mo criticized, "On the 21st, Democratic Party lawmakers Lee Seong-yoon, Lee Geon-tae, and Jang Kyung-tae, along with legislative investigators, went to the presidential residence carrying the accompaniment order. They were not going there to harm the First Lady, were they? The police additionally deployed riot police and controlled access to the residence. They even blocked paths usually used by citizens. Isn't that excessive?"
Rep. Mo pointed out, "The police are being used for security to suit the First Lady's mood. The police exist for the people, not for the First Lady."
