Samsung Electronics' release of the 'Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition,' originally scheduled for 9 a.m. on the 25th, is being delayed.
According to Samsung Electronics and the telecommunications industry on the day, Samsung Electronics announced on the 21st that this product would be released domestically at 9 a.m. on the 25th, but sales have not taken place for over six hours.
A telecommunications industry official said, "We understand that Samsung Electronics, the manufacturer, is delaying the product delivery." The system is such that once the devices are delivered from the manufacturer to the telecom carriers, sales to consumers begin, but since the delivery has not occurred, sales have not started.
As of around 3:40 p.m., only the message "Preparing the product" is displayed on the Samsung.com homepage. It is unusual for Samsung Electronics to miss the scheduled release time.
Regarding this, a Samsung Electronics official stated, "Sales are scheduled to start from 4 p.m. today." They added, "The department store pop-up stores where customers can experience and purchase the product are operating normally."
Previously, Samsung Electronics postponed the release of the Galaxy Fold by about five months, four days before the scheduled release date in 2019, to inspect issues revealed during the review process.
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will be the thinnest and lightest product among all Galaxy Z Fold series once released.
