LG Uplus is expanding female employment with the goal of achieving a 25% female composition by 2030. Based on this, the proportion of female employees among all staff increased from 18.6% in 2021 to 20.8% last year, and the proportion of newly hired female employees rose from 32% to 40%, an 8 percentage point increase over two years.

LG Uplus is particularly focusing on nurturing female managers to ensure gender-equal recruitment. This is a program that helps female members grow within the company based on the 'Female Leader Development Program.' Furthermore, to fulfill their roles as future female leader candidates, comprehensive programs are intensively provided in small groups to develop leadership and career growth. Based on this, female leader candidates are managed and given opportunities for thematic group mentoring and network building through the WIN (Women In Innovation) led leadership growth course.

In addition, one-on-one in-house training is conducted for newly appointed female team leaders, and female executives and managers undergo objective self-awareness leadership assessments followed by personalized briefings to prepare customized plans to develop their leadership. They are matched with one-on-one coaches or mentors in their specialized fields.

Based on these programs, the current proportion of female managers at LG Uplus increased from 9.4% in 2021 to 10.5% last year. The proportion of female top managers is 15.3%, middle managers 4.9%, and lower-level managers 10.7%. The proportion of female managers in revenue-generating departments is around 19%, and the proportion of females in STEM roles?referring to science, technology, engineering, and related jobs such as technicians, web developers, engineers, and research and development (R&D)?is 20.8%.

An LG Uplus official explained, "We are gradually promoting the expansion of female workforce and increasing female personnel among managers at the level of assistant manager and above as well as in new hires."
