Active Administration Selected by Citizens
7 Outstanding Public Official Teams, 24 Members Chosen
Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, held an awards ceremony on the 25th in the city administration meeting room to encourage the hard work of outstanding public officials who promoted the ‘2024 First Half Active Administration Best Practices.’
Previously, the city received a total of 26 cases through recommendations from citizens and departments to select the best active administration cases for the first half of the year. After the first screening by the Active Administration Committee, an online vote was conducted among Changwon citizens for the 7 cases that passed. Ultimately, through the review and resolution of the Active Administration Committee, a total of 7 outstanding cases were selected: 2 grand prizes, 2 excellence awards, and 3 encouragement awards, along with 7 teams and 24 outstanding public officials who promoted these cases.
In particular, this year, participation was expanded to local public institutions to spread the culture of active administration, and the online voting participation rate by citizens more than doubled compared to the previous year, showing the highest participation rate since the voting began.
The grand prizes were awarded to ▲ Kim Jeongdu, a public official in the Parks and Greenery Division, and 3 others who promoted the nationwide first expansion and installation of multifunctional bus stops through corporate sponsorship, and ▲ Kim Gisung, team leader of the Landfill Management Division, and 3 others who saved the budget by linking wastewater treatment.
The excellence awards went to ▲ Kim Hyunsoo, a public official in the Seongsan-gu Administration Division, and 2 others who promoted the Care-you project for isolated and reclusive youth, and ▲ Lee Seungjae, a public official at Jinhae Library, and 3 others who operated the Road Traffic Division’s safety dialogue! ‘The Year of Restoring Road Surface Markings to Original State.’ The encouragement awards were given to ▲ Lee Jaeyoung, team leader of the Facilities Construction Division 2, and 3 others who worked to improve citizen residential satisfaction through ‘on-site consulting’ for apartment complexes, ▲ Shim Wonbo, a public official in Naeseo-eup, Masanhwoewon-gu, who brought hope to families scarred by fire disasters, and 1 other, and ▲ Kim Donggyu, deputy manager of Changwon Facilities Corporation, and 2 others who established the first administrative work automation (RPA) in a local public institution.
The city plans to actively share the best practices and provide outstanding public officials with certificates, prize money, and exceptional incentives such as personnel points.
