'Gwangyang Tourism Revitalization Forum' at Gwangyang Art Warehouse on the 29th
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it will hold the 'Gwangyang Tourism Revitalization Forum' at 2 p.m. on the 29th at Gwangyang Art Warehouse Sogyo-dong B.
Hosted by the Gwangyang Tourism Council, the forum will diagnose the current state of tourism in Gwangyang and explore future development directions, with about 100 participants including tourism experts, workers, citizens, and related officials.

At the forum, Professor Jeong Hee-jeong of Seokyeong University will present on the theme of 'Global City Gwangyang New Renaissance,' and Professor Yoo Eun-mi of Semyung University will present on 'Iron Global City Image Making.'
After the keynote presentations, a discussion chaired by Professor Jeong Hee-jeong will follow. Tourism experts such as Lee Sang-min, CEO of KPEM Co., Ltd., Jeong Seok-soon, Senior Researcher at the Media Strategy Research Institute of the Korea Communications Commission, Jo In-hee, Professor at Dankook University Graduate School of Culture and Arts, and Lee So-yoon, Professor at Jeju Tourism University, will participate as panelists for a lively debate.
Lee Myung-man, Chairman of the Gwangyang Tourism Council, expressed expectations, saying, "This forum, which seeks ways to foster Gwangyang tourism that can overcome population decline and ensure sustainable development, will become a venue for public-private cooperation dreaming of a global Gwangyang tourism new renaissance."
Kim Seong-su, Director of the Tourism Division of Gwangyang City, said, "Gwangyang is a city with abundant natural environments such as Baegunsan Mountain and Seomjin River, as well as rich industrial resources like steel mills and ports," adding, "We hope this forum will produce a blueprint for tourism policies that integrate regional characteristics and landmark-type tourism infrastructure."
