Yeosu Museulmok Beach and Usundo Island Coastal Environmental Cleanup Initiated
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (hereinafter referred to as the Authority, President Park Seong-hyun) announced on the 25th that it carried out coastal cleanup activities at Museulmok Beach in Dolsan-eup, Yeosu City, and the coast of Usundo to commemorate Coastal Cleanup Day in October.
The coastal cleanup activities were joined by executives and employees belonging to the Jeonnam Eastern Marine Environment Guardians Council. The council is organized by the Yeosu Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office and includes participation from over 20 organizations such as the Authority, Yeosu Coast Guard, Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation, and Namhae Fisheries Research Institute.

The event was held to raise awareness about the seriousness of marine litter on the occasion of Coastal Cleanup Day and to urge related organizations and local residents to take concrete actions together to resolve the issue.
An official from the Authority stated, “We will continue to actively strive to create a sustainable marine environment in harmony with the local community.”
Meanwhile, the Authority has completed environmental cleanup activities at the Yeosu coastal area and the Yeosu World Expo site this month, and is planning environmental cleanup activities in the Gwangyang Port hinterland area. All executives and employees are working hard to make Yeosu Gwangyang Port clean and safe.
