The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) announced on the 25th that it will conduct the '2022 Revised Curriculum Core Teacher Competency Enhancement Training (2nd session).' This is to improve teachers' instructional, learning, and assessment capabilities based on the content system and achievement standards of the 2022 revised curriculum common subjects.
The training will be held twice, divided into southern and northern regions considering regional characteristics. On the 26th, it will take place in the southern region (Lotte Human Resources Development Institute Osan Campus), and on November 2nd, in the northern region (Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Global Campus).
In August, the Office of Education conducted the first training session for 480 teachers of integrated social studies and integrated science subjects. The second training session will be conducted mainly through discussions and case sharing for about 230 teachers of common Korean language, common mathematics, common English, Korean history, and science inquiry experiment subjects.
The main contents include understanding the key points and content system of the revised high school common subjects curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment by unit for Common Subject 1, teaching, learning, and assessment by unit for Common Subject 2, and guidance to ensure minimum achievement levels.
Kim Yoon-gi, Director of the Curriculum Policy Division at the Office of Education, said, "We hope that the teachers attending this core teacher training will activate autonomous teacher training and enhance the practical implementation of subject curricula in the field. We will do our best to help the rapid establishment of the 2022 revised curriculum and take the lead in realizing a customized curriculum that considers students' career paths and aptitudes."
