Gumi City in Gyeongbuk participated in the ‘26th Semiconductor Exhibition (SEDEX 2024)’ held at COEX in Seoul from the 23rd to the 25th and successfully held an investment attraction briefing session for semiconductor companies in the metropolitan area on the 24th.

At the briefing session attended by over 80 company representatives, Gumi City attracted great attention by emphasizing its excellent industrial location and differentiated investment attraction policies.


The briefing focused on introducing Gumi City's rich experience accumulated over 50 years in the national industrial complex, the innovative infrastructure of Gumi High-Tech Valley, and the synergy effect with the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport scheduled to open in 2030. In particular, it highlighted the overwhelming investment competitiveness compared to the metropolitan area, thanks to tax benefits and deregulation from the designation of a semiconductor specialized complex, defense innovation cluster, and opportunity development special zone, as well as various support policies.


Representatives from metropolitan companies showed deep interest in Gumi City's investment environment, and during the luncheon and networking time arranged alongside the briefing presentations, they had opportunities to interact and build relationships with potential partners.


Based on the interest gained from companies at this briefing, Gumi City plans to continue active efforts for investment attraction by conducting follow-up consultations. The city expressed its commitment to spare no support necessary for investment decisions and to contribute to revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs through these efforts.


On the same day, Deputy Mayor Kim Hoseop personally visited company booths within the Semiconductor Exhibition and carried out investment sales activities. He said, “Through this briefing session, Gumi City will further solidify its status as a central city of advanced industries,” and added, “We will continue proactive investment attraction activities to make Gumi City the center of advanced industries in the Republic of Korea.”
