Gyeonggi-do Inspects 59 Disaster-Vulnerable Sites... Implements 194 Safety Measures The Gyeonggi-do Special Safety Inspection Team is conducting on-site inspections of vulnerable facilities.

Gyeonggi Province is conducting on-site inspections of 59 facilities with high disaster risk within the province and will implement 194 safety measures.


On the 25th, Gyeonggi Province announced that from the 25th of last month to the 18th of this month, it carried out mandatory safety management inspections on 59 D and E grade facilities with high disaster risk, including houses, bridges, and buildings, to identify additional risk factors and address them.


As a result of the inspections, Gyeonggi Province decided to take safety measures for 159 cases, including restricting traffic on bridges with subsidence at pier foundations, repairing and reinforcing cracked or leaking abutments and deck slabs, maintaining bridge drainage for smooth water flow, continuously monitoring and repairing concrete delamination and spalling on balconies, eaves, and stairwell slabs of aged houses, as well as corrosion of reinforcing bars, and ongoing monitoring and repair of cracks and deformations in major structural parts of basement floors.


Kim Young-gil, head of the Gyeonggi Province Special Safety Inspection Team, stated, "We are continuously conducting field-centered safety inspections every year to prevent disaster accidents in advance," and added, "We will do our best to eliminate risk factors for the safety of residents."
