Preparing for the High School Credit System... Seongdong-gu to Hold 2025 High School Admission Briefing Session

Special Lecture on 'Understanding High School Curriculum and College Entrance Preparation' for Students and Parents Ahead of High School Admission on October 28 at Seongdong-gu Office Auditorium... Co-hosted by Seongdong-Gwangjin Education Support Office, with Participation from All Six Local High Schools and 1:1 Counseling Sessions to Guide Preparation for the Changing College Entrance Environment

Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Wono) announced that it will hold the '2025 High School Admission Briefing Session' on October 28th at 6 PM in the Seongdong-gu Office auditorium for students preparing to enter high school and their parents.


This briefing session is organized to help plan career and admission roadmaps before entering high school in preparation for the fully implemented high school credit system next year and the changing college entrance environment. It is jointly hosted by Seongdong-gu and the Seongdong-Gwangjin Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Jinhyo).


All six high schools in the area (Gyeongil High School, Kumho High School, Doseon High School, Muhak Girls' High School, Seongsu High School, Handae B High School) are expected to participate. In the first part, Yoon Taeyoung, a supervisor from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Career and Vocational Education Department, will give a special lecture titled "Understanding the High School Curriculum and Preparing for College Entrance."


Following this, in the second part, the 'School-specific Briefing Session,' admission officers will provide information on each school's characteristics, educational programs, and career and admission fields.

One-on-one admission consultations by school will also be available. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 5:30 PM on the day of the briefing, and admission officers will conduct individual 10-minute consultations with students and parents.


The briefing session is targeted at approximately 350 people who have completed prior registration, but if there are remaining seats, on-site participation will also be possible. Additionally, for parents and students who cannot attend, the briefing materials and recorded videos will be posted on the Seongdong-gu Office website and YouTube channel.


Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, "I hope that this high school admission briefing session will greatly assist prospective high school students and their parents in preparing for college entrance exams," adding, "We will continue to support students in overcoming admission anxieties and achieving their dreams amid the changing educational environment."
