Yangju City held a promotional event for the 'Waste Digital Device Collection Box Re+Box (hereinafter Collection Box)' installed in the area at Okjeong Millennium Tree LH Complex 16 in Yangju on the 23rd. Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 24th that it held a promotional event for the ‘Waste Digital Device Collection Box Re+Box’ installed in the city at Yangju Okjeong Millennium Tree LH Complex 16 on the 23rd.
The city is fostering environmental and resource circulation social economy enterprises and actively participating in environmental protection and solving climate crisis issues by establishing a digital device resource circulation system within the region. In May, it installed a total of five waste digital device collection boxes in Yangju Okjeong LH Complex 16 and Complex 3 for pilot operation.
At this event, guidance on using the collection boxes for residents, an ESG practice campaign, and education on the importance of environmental protection and resource circulation were conducted for children at Cheonbo Daycare Center in the area.
Re+Box, developed by Liman Co., Ltd., is a non-powered waste digital device collection box that allows safe disposal of unused digital devices. Users can insert waste digital devices such as laptops, tablets, and mobile devices into the collection box and enter basic information to receive convenience store points ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 won depending on the device type.
Notably, the data remaining on digital devices is thoroughly deleted in compliance with the National Intelligence Service’s information system storage media disposal guidelines, allowing users to dispose of digital devices with peace of mind.

Meanwhile, the ‘Yangju City Waste Digital Device Collection Box Installation and Operation Pilot Project’ is promoted through collaboration among the Yangju Social Enterprise Gamdong CLEAN Cooperative (Chairperson Choi Myung-sook), Pocheon Social Enterprise Liman Co., Ltd. (CEO Gu Ja-deok), and the Yangju Social Economy Support Center (Director Yeom Il-yeol), and is operated with space support from Yangju Okjeong Millennium Tree Complex 16 and Yangju Okjeong LH Complex 3 Residential Happiness Support Center.
