5 Nights 8 Days Schedule to Enhance Global Status
Attended the Garden Completion Ceremony at New York Korean Cultural Center
Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, will embark on a 5-night, 8-day trip to the United States and Austria on the 24th to promote the charm, flavors, and innovative industries of Jeonnam to the world.
As the first schedule of the trip, Governor Kim will deliver a keynote speech titled "Advancement of the Korea-US Alliance and the Leap of Global Jeonnam" at the Korea Society in Manhattan, New York on the 25th, introducing Jeonnam and emphasizing the importance of Korea-US relations. He will also attend the completion ceremony of the Jeollanam-do Garden established at the New York Korean Cultural Center to showcase the essence of Jeonnam gardens to the world.
On the 26th, he will attend the opening ceremony of the Jeollanam-do Food Pavilion, the first of its kind by a local government, at H-Mart’s online mall, the largest Korean supermarket in North America, and engage in promotional activities for Jeonnam’s agricultural and marine products. He will also participate in the “Hanbok Day” event held at Tenafly Middle School in New Jersey, promoting the beauty of hanbok and traditional culture.
Governor Kim will then move to Austria and attend the opening ceremony of the 28th World Korean Business Convention (2024 Korea Business Expo Vienna) held at the Vienna Center on the 28th, where he will give a lecture on “Jeonnam Provincial Government Achievements and Future Industry Vision.”
On the 29th, he will consecutively attend the 2024 KOR-AUT Energy Week, the opening ceremony of the Jeonnam-Gyeongbuk Win-Win Cooperation Joint Pavilion, and the opening ceremony of the 28th World Korean Business Convention, promoting Jeonnam on the global economic stage and opening a new horizon for regional win-win cooperation with Gyeongbuk.
On the 30th, to expand exports of agricultural and marine products to Europe, he plans to sign a business agreement with PanAsia, the leading Asian food distribution company in Europe. This is expected to serve as a stepping stone to introduce Jeonnam’s fresh agricultural and marine products to the world and pioneer new markets.
Governor Kim Young-rok emphasized, “This trip will be a valuable opportunity to imprint Jeonnam’s charm, vision, and potential on the global stage,” adding, “We will widely promote Jeonnam’s charm, flavors, and innovative industries to the world and open a new chapter in international cooperation and investment attraction.”
