The charity concert ‘Gift,’ attended by about 500 spectators including IBK Investment & Securities employees and their families, sponsoring organizations, and valued customers, was organized to support the ‘Hanbit Arts Troupe,’ an artistic group composed solely of visually impaired musicians.
Founded in 2003 to promote the independence of artists with disabilities, the Hanbit Arts Troupe is one of Korea’s leading disability arts organizations, actively performing on stages worldwide for 20 years.
Conductor ‘Seo Hee-tae,’ who provided commentary for the concert, has served as the principal conductor of the Seoul National Symphony Orchestra and music director of the Millennium Symphony Orchestra. He continues to be active not only in music but also in education and lectures as a director and conductor.
The concert, consisting of three parts, featured a brass ensemble, a band, and an orchestra each performing one part, delivering a diverse program. The audience responded enthusiastically to familiar songs such as pieces from the movies ‘La La Land’ and ‘Mission,’ as well as popular Korean songs like ‘Geudae Nae Mame Deureoomyeon-eun’ and ‘Oreumakgil.’
Seo Jeong-hak, CEO of IBK Investment & Securities, said, “This concert was organized to support the dreams and efforts of visually impaired musicians. Just as the Hanbit Arts Troupe overcomes disabilities and conveys hope through their performances, IBK Investment & Securities will continue to strengthen ESG management and provide practical support so that more marginalized groups can overcome difficulties and stand up.”
