Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 24th that it will participate in the 2024 Digital Media Tech Show (DMTS 2024), Korea's first media content and advanced technology convergence show, held at KINTEX from the 23rd to the 25th, operating the 'Ilsan Techno Valley Promotion Hall.'
The Digital Media Tech Show is a specialized exhibition for domestic media, content, and advanced technology, with over 200 companies from Korea and abroad setting up around 400 booths annually, attracting approximately 20,000 visitors.
It features the latest trends not only in media and content but also in advanced technology fields, and simultaneously hosts buyer consultations, export consultations, and various conferences, providing diverse attractions.
The city plans to conduct face-to-face consultations with domestic and international companies interested in the media and content sectors, which are key areas of Ilsan Techno Valley, and to build a corporate network that leads to actual investment demand through promotional activities for attracting promising companies and strategic IR activities.
As Goyang City was designated as the first 'Venture Business Promotion District' in northern Gyeonggi Province, venture companies moving into Ilsan Techno Valley will receive benefits such as a 50% reduction in property tax and acquisition tax, exemption from five types of development charges, and government management and technical support.
A city official stated, "Through operating this promotion hall, we will widely promote Goyang Special City as a city with excellent living conditions and a business-friendly environment to domestic and international media and content companies, and continuously manage the networks established with interested companies."
Meanwhile, the 'Ilsan Techno Valley Development Project' is being actively promoted with the main construction having started last October in Daehwa-dong, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, covering approximately 860,000 square meters, and land sales are planned ahead of its scheduled completion in 2026.
